Ergonomic split keyboard
The split-keyboard is a fairly rare type of keyboard. The name says it all: a split-keyboard is divided into 2 parts. The parts can be joined together or placed separately on your desk. Combating RSI, Promoting neutral wrist positioning. These are just a few of the benefits a Split-Keyboard can offer to a modern workplace.
Keyboards that come pre-packaged in a standard configuration are particularly damaging, as they are used for pro-longed periods of time in less than ideal positions. Typing on a flat surface with what’s known as a positive tilt (the back of the keyboard is higher than the front) forces the user to splay their hands outwards, causing pressure and strain to be placed on the wrists, forearms, elbows & shoulders.
Split-Keyboards provide a simple solution in order to relieve the strain a standard keyboard forces on a person’s body. A split-keyboard pulls apart from the centre, so that anybody can find the perfect fit for themselves. Some brands of split-keyboards even adjust on a vertical plane, in order to rotate the user’s wrists into a more natural position, minimizing the tension placed on their forearms.
